Serving members of Penticton since 2006
Meals on Wheels delivers nutritious hot & frozen meals to those who are unable to cook for themselves. In 2018 this program provided 10,454 hot meals, 5597 frozen entrees, 1243 soups, 212 salads, 110 desserts and 10 sides.
Meals On Wheels is always looking for new volunteers. To volunteer, contact the Meals On Wheels office and ask to speak with the manager, Judy Jefferies.
Community Support for Meals On Wheels
The Community supports the Meals On Wheels Program through monetary donations and volunteerism. At Christmas citizens support clients of this program by purchasing gifts to be given to them. This is done via a program organized by Home Instead Seniors Care. Clients are truly appreciative of the gifts as a large number have no family close by. Each year, the Quilter’s Guild provides specially made placemats for each client and children from the Alliance Church give special hand made decorations and cards.
